IMPORTANT: Class rule change
Dear Member At the last AGM there were several class rule changes approved. One of them regarding removing the possibility for a point of attachment on the underside of the boom is proving problematical.
There is no grandfathering within the rule so that many booms currently being used are now no longer class legal and there are manufacturers with large stocks of booms which again are no longer legal. This class rule change has had a greater impact than originally expected. In order to try and minimize this both for owners and manufacturers, ISAF have withdrawn the rule change effective immediately.
Consequently class rule 184.108.40.206 has been amended to the version that was in place prior to February 2015: “The boom downhaul may be attached to the boom in an optional manner by use of a fixed stop or lacing eye at a fixed position. The outer edge of the fitting used shall not be more than 200mm from the inner end of the boom excluding boom jaws.” This can be found on our website:
